

Kiskeya Education Fund (KEF) and La Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU) located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, have entered into an agreement aimed at providing scholarships to academically strong students in need of financial assistance to pursue their educational aspirations.

Through this partnership, KEF and UNPHU aim to broaden access to higher education, supporting students and families requiring financial aid for personal, intellectual, and professional growth. This initiative is designed to empower individuals with high academic talent, high economic need, and a demonstrated desire to serve their communities.

The application and selection process for these scholarships will be managed directly through UNPHU's scholarship department. Prospective scholarship recipients should contact the UNPHU directly.
KISKEYA SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS (2025)

Oscar Piña, a 20-year-old from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is a passionate and resilient student whose love for technology fuels his vision of a better future. He began his studies in Telematics Engineering at a prestigious university in the country, where he stood out for his academic excellence and leadership, actively participating in initiatives that promoted innovation and student development.
However, due to challenging financial circumstances within his family, Oscar was forced to pause his studies. Refusing to give up, he continued searching for ways to pursue his education and achieve his dream of becoming a technology professional.

Today, thanks to the KISKEYA Scholarship, Oscar is continuing his academic journey at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), where he studies Computer Systems Engineering. He hopes to specialize in technology for social impact, empowering young people in his community to transform their lives through education and innovation.
Oscar’s story is a powerful testament to resilience, hope, and the strength to keep dreaming in times of crisis.

HILLARY
Hillary, a 17-year-old from Santo Domingo Este, grew up in Los Tres Brazos and now lives in Los Mina with her mother and two older sisters. Raised in a humble but value-driven home, she learned early the importance of hard work, respect, and perseverance.
An outstanding student and natural leader, Hillary represented her school in Model United Nations—earning Best Position Paper at MINUVA 2023—placed in the Top 4 at the TRD Debate Tournament 2024, and received national recognition in the Spanish Language Olympiads. She graduated with a 98 average and received the Máxima Excelencia Madre Cándida award for leadership and values.
Beyond academics, Hillary has volunteered with the Pastoral Juvenil, Leadership Academy, and initiatives like Voces de la Tierra 2024, Bright Leaders League, and Impacto 360, working to promote education and youth empowerment.

Today, thanks to the Kiskeya Education Scholarship, Hillary is pursuing a degree in Law at UNPHU. She dreams of becoming a criminal lawyer, judge, or public prosecutor—defending the vulnerable and promoting justice throughout the Dominican Republic. For her, this scholarship represents not just financial support, but hope, gratitude, and the chance to transform her life and her community

LORENA

ELIANNY
Lorena, a 17-year-old from Las Guanábanas, Azua, has lived a story of perseverance, resilience, and dedication. In her community, she has become a role model, leading social projects aimed at improving the lives of her neighbors.​
Despite her family’s financial challenges, particularly her mother who is the main breadwinner of the family, Lorena has not allowed adversity to hold her back. Her passion for change and progress drives her to dream of a better future for her community.
Lorena was a top student in high school and was accepted into the prestigious UNPHU to study civil engineering. Her goal is to find ways to improve infrastructure in rural communities like the one she grew up in and to serve as an inspiration to other young people.

Elianny, a 16-year-old from Haina, has long dreamed of becoming a civil engineer to help transform her community. A recent graduate of El Politécnico Martín López, she grew up in a setting with limited opportunities but surrounded by immense love and support—especially from her mother, Berónica. As a single mother, Berónica works tirelessly to support Elianny and her two younger siblings, always prioritizing their education despite great financial challenges. Inspired by her mother’s strength and perseverance, Elianny has remained determined to pursue her goals and create positive change for others.

Thanks to the Kiskeya Scholarship, Elianny’s full tuition is now covered at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), where she is fulfilling her dream of studying civil engineering. She hopes to specialize in sustainable construction and safe housing, aiming to improve living standards in her community and ultimately design high-quality, resilient homes for families in need.

From Cristo Rey, Santo Domingo, Ashly is a 20-year-old studying medicine, driven by her desire to care for others and improve the healthcare system in her country. She lives in a humble home in San Carlos with her mother and brother, where hard work and love have been central values. Despite financial challenges, her mother has tirelessly supported her education, and Ashly has shown her dedication with outstanding academic performance.​
The rising cost of tuition and additional medical school expenses have stretched her family’s finances to the limit, to the point that Ashly thought she might have to drop out. Thanks to her KISKEYA scholarship, however, she will be able to complete her studies at the UNPHU which has one of the best medical programs in the country.
